The bent-wing F4U Corsair was the first carrier aircraft which could outfight not only the best Japanese fighters, but could also outperform other Allied aircraft. Many consider the Corsair to be the greatest piston-engined fighter ever built.
This model represents a F4U-1D from the VF-84, unit 167, February 1945, carrier USS Bunker Hill.
