Two strangers in the corner
When I entered in that cafe
I saw you seated at the end
I sat next to you in the corner
And you smiled back at me
I asked ‘how you like your food?’
You said I should eat the same
And we talked about places
Neither you nor I had ever been
And we laughed so much that morning
Even left a good tip at the bar
Because that waiter was so caring
And we were having so much fun
Then we walked to your hotel
Where you rolled one for later
And we talked about the weather
And you chose to use a scarf
And we smoked in that car parking
Where our hands were freezing bad
Then we went down to the river
Where some kids were passing by
And we stopped at the street market
And we drank vin chaud à l'orange
And it was then that I noticed
That your smile was all that there was
And your face was the most beautiful
Thing the water never reflected
And your hair was the most beautiful
Thing the wind ever dreamt to touch
And the fresh snow from that morning
Could only melt under your perfect legs
And I knew there at that moment
That I'd been born just to meet you
Cos in that December morning
Had I turned a different corner
I would’ve never entered in that place
Where you were smiling at the end
